PostCalendar v6.0.0 Released

Announcing the release of PostCalendar v6.0.0, the "Lazarus" release. This release brings PostCalendar completely into the Zikula era. PostCalendar v6.0.0 requries Zikula v1.2.1 and will not work with previous Zikula versions.

PostCalendar has remained an important and favorite module for Zikula users for many years, but was abandoned after developers became frustrated with its convoluted codebase and meandering development. In early 2009, Craig Heydenburg (craigh) of Sound Web Development adopted the module and began redevelopment while maintaining compatibility. PostCalendar v6.0.0 is the culmination of that work and features a completely refactored codebase that adheres to Zikula's code standards, is completely Zikula-API compliant with internally well documented code. PostCalendar 5 was a product of Robert Gasch (rgasch) in his Openstar project and utilized many of his Util libraries which were eventually adopted by Zikula as its foundation. This 'fork' was the basis used for the development of version 6.0.0. Craig was assisted in the transition from version 5 to 6 by Arjen Tebbenhof (teb) and Karma Dordrak (drak). Many thanks to all three for their help. (PostCalendar History and Credits) Thanks also to Michael Halbrook (HalbrookTech) for testing during 6.0.0 development.

MediaAttach 1.1 Released

The MediaAttach Team is proud to Announce the 1.1 Release of MediaAttach. This Release is a "it should work" Release, its main goals are to replace all SVN Installation in the Wild, to make bug reporting and supporting easier. There are several known bugs which have been scheduled for the next release (See Roadmap [1]).

Security issues with file editors in Scribite before v3.2

scribite! is a 3rd party extension for Zikula that supports integration of various wysiwyg editors to edit your page contents. It contains external file manager libraries for FCKeditor and TinyMCE (TinyMCPUK version until scribite! 3.1) with uploading features. There are vulnerabilities in these file managers that allow write access to your file system and pose a severe risk to security.

Roadmap Changes, What in the zOO is it all about?

Shortly after the release of Zikula 1.2.0 we announced a major change to the Zikula development roadmap. This completely redefines the Zikula project, it's goals and responsibility. The initial announcement was a soft announcement via the community forums and mailing list. The response was overwhelmingly positive but at the time we were all too busy with completing the backend processes to support the new translation management system for Zikula 1.2.0. It's now time to make an official announcement for the community at large. If you are a developer in particular, please pay special attention.

Our main message to developers is, "Zikula goes modern".
